It was reported in the Leicester Mercury on Thursday 1 February that Councillor John Mugglestone, City Council cabinet member for the environment, had stated that the Council would be applying for about £500,000 of Government money to build the controversial traveller's site on Ratby Lane. County Council leader David Parsons said that the County Council was continuing with its bid for funding for sites in north west Leicestershire, as well as in Hinckley and Bosworth, and he believed that they could be used by the city. The Parish Council will continue to monitor the situation closely. |
